It may interest you that the 2012 POPULATION AND HOUSING CENSUS,
Population Distribution by Administrative Areas Report has now been
published by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) in Pdf format
at: <a href="http://www.nbs.go.tz/sensa/new.html">http://www.nbs.go.tz/sensa/new.html<br>
</a>The Administrative Areas includes population data counts down to
Ward level and including basic population maps at district level.
At present the NBS has released Population Totals; Male/Female;
Average Household Size; and Sex Ratio figures.<br>

It is very encouraging to see that the NBS are meeting its published
<a
href="http://www.nbs.go.tz/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&id=95&Itemid=112">Release
Dates Calendar</a>. Hopefully the GIS shapefiles will be
available later this year.<br>
