Dear All,<br>
<br>
Just come across a fascinating archive of downloadable maps and
reports for Tanzania from the World Soil Survey Archive and
Catalogue (<a href="http://www.wossac.com/index.cfm">WOSSAC</a>)
that may be of interest to some.<br>
<br>
<b>To find what is there just do a separate SEARCH for Tanzania,
Tanganyika or maybe just your area of interest if you are lucky.</b><br>
<br>
The search will find Scanned Soil and Land Use maps, reports and
surveys for Tanzania with scanning and digital capture of the
material, comprised 215 maps and 180 reports. Most of it seems to be
pre-2000 including some of the 1996 Huntings Land Cover & Land
Use 1:250,000 maps, national atlas sheets etc - scanning is at
400dpi some maps are geo-referencing (1996 Hunting maps) some maps
are not.<br>
<br>
A useful overview of the material can be found here: <a
href="http://www.wossac.com/archive/overview_tanzania.cfm">http://www.wossac.com/archive/overview_tanzania.cfm</a><br>
<br>
I haven't checked yet but some of the maps, but not the reports, may
have already appeared on the Eurosoils website which also has a huge
scanned archive:<br>
